Jim Maynor was born and raised in Asheville, N.C. the only brother among three sisters. It was during his troubled teen years that he was led to the saving knowledge of Jesus through the witness of his younger sister Karen and the prayers of his beloved Grandmother. For several years he worked behind the scenes in ministry. While working in the local church he attended he also produced and edited radio broadcasts and worked in a large tape ministry. Several years ago he answered the call of God to do the works of an evangelist. Since that time God has been faithful and has allowed him to preach not only in the United States but in other countries as well. He has ministered in Trinidad, West Indies, Canada, Guyana, South America, Haiti and Ghana, West Africa. The crusades in Ghana have been especially important as hundreds have responded to the call to salvation through Jesus Christ. Bro. Jim is partnered in ministry with his sister Karen Carr and her husband Richard. His evangelistic ministry works out of the church they founded and pastor, Open Door Fellowship Church of Poulan, Ga. In 1999 he was installed as director of Open Door Missions which is actively working in Haiti and Ghana to help the poor and win as many people as possible to Jesus Christ. After serving as Missions Director he was elected president of Open Door Outreach Ministries, Inc. in Septemeber 2002. He has a Bachelor of Theology from Southwest Georgia Theological Seminary. He also was awarded a Doctor of Divinity degree. He is the author of three Bible courses, Foundational doctrines of the Bible Part One, Foundational Doctrines of the Bible Part Two and Lessons from the Cloud of witnesses.
